2015 CIAA®: The Greatest Reunion
To Date!

McDonald’s® Shared the HBCU Love at CIAA!

This year was McDonald’s 10th year at the CIAA tournament. The celebration was nonstop as McDonald’s turned up the noise at the McDonald’s CIAA Fan Experience and Super Saturday festivities. Charlotte, North Carolina was rocking and even if you couldn’t make it, we’ve got the exclusive details from the event right here!

The McDonald’s CIAA Fan Experience Booth was the place to be this year! Consumers received McDonald’s personalized jerseys, competed in an HBCU Drumline style contest, and tested out their hoops skills at the inflatable Pop-A-Shot rim. The personalized jerseys were a major hit and could be seen all over the arena and convention center. The McDonald’s booth was full of energy! Our Host, Rock T, kept the party going, along with DJ Skaz on the 1’s and 2’s, and our McDonald’s ambassadors got the crowd bouncing!

The McDonald’s Super Saturday was one of the best events to date as McDonald’s took over the Time Warner Arena. Hip-Hop’s smash hit group Rae Sremmurd performed their hit song “No Flex Zone” and crowd went crazy. They also brought in cheerleaders to contribute to the CIAA spirit. Fans got a chance to check out the McDonald’s DJ Flavor Battle where DJ’s battled it out for a chance to win $500. DJ LP was crowned the Flavor Battle champion. DJ prodigy Chase Dawson took on seasoned mix-master DJ Skaz in the Old School vs. New School Dance Battle. Some of the best dancers old school and new showed off their best moves doing dances from the old school generation all the way to the newest dance crazes right now. Even Ronald McDonald got in on the action and learned some new moves!

But it wasn’t all just fun and games. McDonald’s also showed its commitment to being deeply rooted in the community by supporting the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, offering information on scholarship opportunities and promoting the “I Love My HBCU” video testimonial booth. Hundreds of consumers came to the booth to show love for their HBCUs and to describe what a tremendous impact these schools have made in their lives.

Tons of swag and prizes were given out, including McDonald’s Arch Cards, video gaming systems, tote bags, headphones, the sound speakers, and everyone’s favorite McDonald’s Happy Meal toys! It was a fun-filled, jam-packed weekend of excitement! Once again, McDonald’s delivered. But don’t just take our word for it.
