ALERT**** Hoax
McDonald’s has received numerous inquiries from concerned customers who have received an e-mail or letter offering to credit their bank account or credit card with a sum of money in exchange for participating in a survey, becoming a secret shopper, cashing a check and/or providing personal information. There might also be a request in the e-mail asking you to access a website to complete a survey or deposit a check and wire money back to the company.
Please be advised that these emails and letters are fraudulent, and McDonald's is not the source or affiliated with these emails or web site scams in any way. We are currently conducting an investigation to determine the source of these e-mails and/or website scams, and we apologize for any inconvenience they may have caused.
South America Beef
If you received an email claiming that McDonald's beef comes from South America, the information in the email is false. We believe the purpose of the email is to feed untrue rumors about McDonald's sourcing of beef.
