Rest assured, the Dollar Menu is still at McDonald’s® and your favorite Double Cheeseburger is here to stay! Starting on December 1st, you will find the Double Cheeseburger on our regular menu at a slightly higher price than a dollar, but still at a good value. But don’t worry, we have a $1 burger alternative for you!
When you visit us in December, also look for our latest addition to the Dollar Menu – the new McDouble®. It’s pretty much the same as the Double Cheeseburger, just with one less slice of cheese.

Is the Dollar Menu still at McDonald’s?
Absolutely! The Dollar Menu is still at McDonald’s. Starting, December 1st, you will find the Double Cheeseburger on our regular menu for a slightly increased price, which will vary by restaurant. Our popular Dollar Menu still includes a variety of great- tasting items all for a buck, like the McChicken® Sandwich, our World Famous Fries®, the Fruit ‘n Yogurt Parfait and now the new McDouble.

Where’s my Double Cheeseburger?
It hasn’t gone away! We know our customers love the Double Cheeseburger and it is still on our menu. Due to higher food costs, we have increased the price just slightly. When you visit your local McDonald’s in December, it will be on our regular menu.
We heard loud and clear from you, our customers, that you didn’t want us to take the Double Cheeseburger away. We will continue to offer the Double Cheeseburger on our regular menu while still providing you with a burger option on the Dollar Menu. |
What’s the McDouble?
The McDouble is replacing the Double Cheeseburger on the Dollar Menu. It’s almost the same as the Double Cheeseburger but with one less slice of cheese. It has two all-beef patties, mustard, ketchup, onions, pickles and a slice of American cheese on a toasted bun. |
What’s the difference between the McDouble and the Double Cheeseburger?
The only difference between the two is that the McDouble has one slice of American cheese while the Double Cheeseburger has two. |
Why did the price of my Double Cheeseburger increase?
We had to raise the price slightly, due to higher food costs. At McDonald's, offering you great tasting food at a value we know you’ve come to expect, is really important to us. That’s why we’ll continue offering you your McDonald’s favorites that satisfy your tastes (and wallets!). |
Why does one slice of cheese impact the price of the Double Cheeseburger?
Rising costs are affecting everyone – no matter where you shop or choose to eat. A slice of cheese will still cost you more at the grocery store than it will at McDonald’s! We’re doing our very best to continue to satisfy your tastes and wallets. |
What if I order a McDouble with an extra slice of cheese. Then it would only be $1, right?
No. If you order the McDouble with an extra slice of cheese, you will be charged for the extra slice of cheese. Nice try, though! |
Will the Double Cheeseburger go back on the Dollar Menu once food prices start to go down?
It’s too early to say what will happen in the future, but at this time, we plan to keep the Double Cheeseburger on our regular menu and the McDouble on the Dollar Menu. |
