McDonald's has been ranked #1 in Fortune magazine's 2008 list of Most Admired Food Service Companies—an advance over our #2 ranking in 2007.
We received top scores in our industry on five of the key criteria used to determine the ranking. Among companies in all industry sectors, we were ranked #2 for quality management and #6 for both social responsibility and use of corporate assets.
The annual Fortune Most Admired list is a widely recognized report card on corporate reputation. It is based on surveys of corporate executives, directors, and securities analysts. They are asked to rate large companies in their own industry according to eight criteria that are viewed as key attributes of corporate reputation. Top rated companies are selected for the industry-specific Most Admired lists. A second round of ratings by the same respondents produces the all-industry Most Admired list.
