Supplier Diversity is a proactive business process that seeks to provide equal access to all qualified suppliers for purchasing opportunities here at McDonalds Corporation. The quick service restaurant industry has recognized the importance of emphasizing the value of minority, women, and disabled veteran enterprises as strategic alliances in the supply chain.
To support our customers in reflecting the diversity of our consumer markets, McDonalds Corporation will recognize and utilize the entrepreneurial talents of minority, women, and disabled veteran-owned enterprises as valued contributors in our supply chain. McDonalds Corporation is committed to Supplier Diversity, and to that end has included within our supplier base, firms from the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women Business Enterprise (WBE), and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) communities. Our formal Supplier Diversity Initiative reflects our belief that "Diversity works everyday at McDonalds Corporation."
Our corporate commitment is at the highest level; and we have full commitment in our management ranks as well. We have many Supplier Diversity Initiative champions, with the full support of McDonalds management team.
McDonalds Corporation is a corporate member of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and a member of our local chapter in the Chicagoland area. TL9000 Diversity Best Practices Committee, helping to write industry guidelines. Our initiative will continue to grow through our outreach activities, our strategic alliances and sharing of qualified diversity suppliers with our key customers, our involvement in local and national groups and associations, and our corporate commitment, namely "It is the right thing to do for our company and for our community." |
