| McDonald's restaurants in Bahrain are Bahraini owned and operated by Mr. Adel Fakhro of the Bahrain Restaurants Company. McDonald's has eight restaurants in Bahrain, with a ninth opening the summer of 2002. The first restaurant opened on December 15th, 1994. Since then, it has been working to integrate Bahraini employees into the McDonald's workforce, become an integral part of the communities in which it is located and provide Bahraini customers with the great McDonald's experience that they have come to know and love. |

Today, more than 35% of McDonald's workforce is Bahraini, some of whom have been with the company since the first intake and are now store managers. There are also a number of female Bahrainis employed, many of whom show great potential and will no doubt occupy management positions in the future! Recently, McDonald's Bahrain has introduced part-time positions, which allow even more sectors of the community, such as college students and women, to become part of the McDonald's family. McDonald's Bahrain celebrated 100% Bahrainisation at its Muharraq Store in March 2001 and continues to work with Government departments to secure support for the development of further human. McDonald's Bahrain has been honoured by the Baisan Institute for its contribution to training and development of college students. |

| In the Arab nations, all McDonald's restaurants are locally owned and operated by Arab entrepreneurs. The first restaurant in the region opened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on December 8th, 1993; then Jeddah, KSA on January 19th, 1994; Oman in March 1994; Kuwait in June 1994; Bahrain on December 15th, 1994; the UAE on December 22nd, 1994; and Qatar in December 1995. |
