Welcome to McDonald's Ireland

The first McDonald's restaurant opened in Ireland in May 1977. Currently, there are 60 restaurants with over 3000 employees throughout Ireland.

Unique Restaurants

McDonald's Navan occupies the old Post Office. This building was constructed over a hundred years ago. It serviced Navan town and surrounding countryside for most of that time.

McDonald's Bray occupies the old Town Hall. The building was commissioned in 1879 by Lord Reginald Brabazon, heir to the 11th Earl of Meath, who wished to build a covered market. At the same time the town commissioners required a meeting place. Hence the dual purpose design which was carried out by Guy Dawber an architect with the same firm that designed the National Library and National Museum. The stained glass windows contain the Brabazon coats of arms.

Unique Food

Introduced in 1970, the Shamrock Shake is a unique item for Ireland. These special shakes are available for a period around the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
