McDonald's Bray occupies the old Town Hall. The building was commissioned in 1879 by Lord Reginald Brabazon, heir to the 11th Earl of Meath, who wished to build a covered market. At the same time the town commissioners required a meeting place. Hence the dual purpose design which was carried out by Guy Dawber an architect with the same firm that designed the National Library and National Museum. The stained glass windows contain the Brabazon coats of arms. |
