UNIQUE RESTAURANTS

McDonald’s Rock-n-Roll is located in one of the most important business area in Bucharest. The restaurant was opened in 1999 with a big Rock-n-Roll concert creating a big event in the town.

In order to offer the customers the possibility of enjoying the uniqueness of Rock-n-Roll atmosphere, but also to present a more attractive alternative to the children, a special birthday facility was created by installing a nice colored and funny tram. Such funny and “old fashioned” trams are now installed in many of our DT’s thus increasing the attractiveness to our brand and the customer satisfaction.

McDonald’s Morarilor
is another restaurant unique through its Internet Corner offered to our customers and employees. The Internet Corner is the start of a project, which will be developed in other restaurants too.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities

RMCC was set-up in Romania on 16th November 1998.

Starting with this date many projects became reality and many faces started to smile again: 1999 – Operation Smile – brought hope and happiness to more than 200 children with facial malformations who had free surgeries; 2000-2001 McHappy Day – important amounts were collected and a new emergency unit was opened in one of the biggest hospitals for children in Bucharest in 2002; 2001 – Traffic Education for Children in order to prevent accidents was another interesting program.
First Ronald McDonald House opens in Romania
To create the country’s first Ronald McDonald House it had been the dream the “Fundatia pentru Copii Ronald McDonald”. In spite of many difficulties the dream was realized November 2003 when the house opened its doors. The grand opening attracted political luminaries and special guests, including Romanian president Ion Iliescu, ministers, U.S. and Netherlands ambassadors and McDonald’s and RMHC representatives from U.S. and Europe.

The chapter had help from many, many friends to raise the necessary 550,000 EURO and McDonald’s Romania committed to the project by raising significant funds through World Children’s Day events.
The brightly colored walls of the new House are a beacon of hope and a symbol of national pride. The House is located near Grigore Alexandrescu Children’s Hospital in Bucharest and can accommodate 15 families.

In recognition of the Chapter’s outstanding work, “Fundatia pentru Copii Ronald McDonald” received in 2003 the “Excellency Award of social Responsibility” from the American chamber of Commerce in Romania.
McDonald’s High School Cup

Football is one of the most popular sports in the country so the idea of “sponsoring” a football competition for young people was a rewarding and successful initiative. McDonald’s is the leader and the official partner of this national yearly event.
