| ISO 9002 CERTIFICATION |

For the first time, the LATU (Laboratorio Tecnológico del Uruguay) gives the ISO 9002 Certification, certified by the IQNET and ÖQS, to a restaurant company. McDonald's is the first food service company to receive ISO 9002 Certification from LATU (Laboratorio Tecnológico del Uruguay), IQNET and ÖQS in Uruguay. It is also the first McDonald's in Latin America to receive this honor and second in the world to accomplish the ISO 9002 Certification. This recognition not only applies to every McDonald's restaurants in Uruguay, but also to all the activities of the company in our country, covering all the different disciplines. |

| El País, the main newspaper in Montevideo, performs an image ranking survey, where McDonald's has obtained the first position in different areas. During three consecutive years, McDonald's was on the three first positions, being considered as the "Best Employer" in 1999. |
