For information on technology requirements for your device, see the Technology section.
1. Connecting is simple, and requires two easy steps:
When in the McDonald’s restaurant, just turn on your computer (or PDA) and open the Internet browser. You will be pointed to the McDonald’s ‘splash page’ where you can select your connection option. If this doesn’t work you may first have to reset your SSID to “Wayport_Access” (underscore element required, case sensitive) and then open the Internet browser.
How to reset the SSID varies depending on the computer and operating system, but is usually done in Control panel/Network Connections or by right-clicking the connection symbol on your lower main window tool bar (typically in the lower right corner of the screen).
2. Select a payment option:
Purchase a one-time connection with a credit card online
Use a Wayport membership
Use a Wayport prepaid card
Use a promotional coupon (sometimes handed out in the restaurant)
Use a roaming partner membership/subscription.
Please note that the only service you can buy in the restaurant is the one-time connection option with a credit card online.
It depends on how you connect. Currently, the recommended pricing for a one-time connection is $2.95 for 2 hours of service. If you connect through a membership or roaming option, the price depends on your subscription rate with that company.
Unless you already have a subscription or a prepaid card from Wayport, the only way to pay in the McDonald’s restaurant is online with credit card.
