We showed up. We showed out. We celebrated five brilliant black women at the 365Black Power of Inspiration Awards Luncheon. The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans was the scene of this regal afternoon hosted by the beautiful and talented Essence Atkins. Grammy-nominated artists Kelly Price and Jekalyn Carr graced the ceremony with stellar performances. And the women of the hour were presented with their awards.
Valeisha Butterfield-Jones received the Game Changer Award for her work as head of Black Community Engagement for Google, and the co-founder and CEO of Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network.
Olympic Champion Sanya Richards Ross received the Catalyst Award for her work as a motivational speaker and her Fast Track program giving young people a head start on reaching their goals through literacy and wellness.
Actress Tichina Arnold received the Advocacy Award for raising awareness for lupus through her We Win foundation.
Marty McGillis received the Business Pioneer Award as a McDonald’s Owner/Operator.
Chasity Hale won the Community Choice Youth Award earning a $10,000 scholarship and will attend Stanford University in the Fall.
