McDonald’s delivers fun and excitement surrounding the Super Bowl for Houston Youth at the NFL Experience Driven by Genesis.

In 2017, through its partnership with the NFL, McDonald’s sought to create a memorable experience for kids in the Houston community. On Saturday, January 28th and Sunday, January 29th, 2017 McDonald’s, in partnership with the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and 100 Black Men, brought local youth ages 7-15 to NFL Experience Driven by Genesis at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX.

NFL Experience is a weeklong, indoor theme park filled with football clinics, games, NFL memorabilia, player signings, NFL merchandise, product sponsors and everything else a professional football fanatic could imagine.

For some, an opportunity like this for free is out of their reach. McDonald’s held a private free play clinic in partnership with NFL Play 60 and Miami Dolphin’s, Xavien Howard and Houston Texan Devon Still. The free play area consisted of Punt, Pass & Kick, 3 Cone Drills, and a Play 60 Zone. The children ended their day with a private player signing by Texans; Corey Moore, Whitney Mercilus, and Wendall Williams on Saturday and the Texans; Braxton Miler, Jadaveon Clowney, and Jay Prosche on Sunday. Thanks to McDonald’s, a total of 453 local children were able to participate.

McDonald’s would like to thank the McDonald’s Black Owner Operators Association for providing meals. McDonald’s would also like to thank the men of Omega Psi Phi and 100 Black Men for their participation as chaperones.
