Chief Financial Officer, McDonald’s USA
As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of McDonald’s USA, Spero Droulias leads the U.S. Finance organization and the U.S. Business Insights organization.
He is a member of the U.S. Senior Leadership Team and he engages with franchisees through the Leadership Alignment Team, the National Leadership Council and co-leadership of the System Economics Team (SET). Spero also serves as the Treasurer to Global Ronald McDonald House Charity and is the Executive Sponsor of the McDonald’s Young Professionals Network (YPN).
Prior to his current position, Spero was U.S. Vice President, Controller for 2 years, where he was responsible for all U.S. Financial Planning and Analysis, Strategic Management Support and Financial Leadership as well as support to U.S. McOpCo.
Since joining McDonald’s in 1995, Spero has held a variety of positions in the U.S. Business, with a majority of his time gaining extensive field experience in the greater Chicago Region and in the U.S. Central Division of McOpCo, including three years as the Central Division Finance Officer, where he provided strategic financial perspective and thought partnering regarding various business issues as a member of the Central Division Senior Leadership Team. In addition, he spent two years as the Senior Director of Global Finance Planning and Analysis. In 1999, Spero was a recipient of the prestigious President’s Award.
Before joining McDonald’s, Spero worked for Ernst & Young for six years in the audit practice, servicing consumer products and manufacturing clients.
Outside of McDonald’s, Spero is very active in the community, serving on the Euclid Elementary School Board Strategic Team Subcommittee and at his local church.
Spero has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from DePaul University and is a CPA. He also holds an MBA in Finance from DePaul University. Spero lives in Des Plaines with his wife, Elaine, and their three children.
