The Good you Don’t Order
Our Planet
What’s the good? Making sure we leave our planet cleaner, greener, and a better place for future generations.
We’re firmly committed to creating positive environmental impact and have long had sustainability strategically embedded into our operations. Whether through eco-friendly initiatives or partnerships with entities who share our ethos, we’re playing a vital role in contributing to the UAE’s vision of a sustainable future.
For more than 30 years, we’ve partnered with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) to roll out initiatives such as the Clean UAE campaign and tree-planting efforts, reducing the country’s carbon footprint. Since 2007, we’ve helped plant more than two million trees – reducing more than 12,500 metric tons of CO2 – as well as taking part in aluminum recycling efforts that mitigated 5,799 metric tons of CO2. We’ve also helped remove more than 1.6 million kilograms of waste since 2022.
We’re committed supporters of circular economy principles, working tirelessly to reduce the impact of our logistics operations on the environment. Partnering with organizations such as Neutral Fuels, we convert 100% of our used cooking oil into biodiesel; an initiative that, since 2011, has resulted the recycling of more than 8.6 million liters of oil and our trucks traveling an incredible 28 million kilometers on biodiesel, saving more than 26 million kilograms of CO2 emissions.
In our restaurants, you’ll see our efforts to achieve our sustainability goals on every table. We’ve replaced plastic straws with paper alternatives, and transitioned to wooden cutlery and stirrers. We’re aiming to ditch plastics from our Happy Meal toys, and shift to more sustainable packaging wherever possible across our entire product range, including switching hot drink lids to molded fiber and replacing all other plastic packaging with recycled materials.
We’re well on track to meet our ambitious targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, leaving our planet a better place than it is today.
