Employees planted more than 60 mangrove saplings and collected over 1 ton of waste during the clean-up.
McDonald’s Qatar, in collaboration with Mubadara for Social Impact, spearheaded an environmental initiative at the "Flower for Each Spring" camp in Ras Matbakh. Over 100 employees united to plant mangroves and clean beaches, underscoring the company’s steadfast commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Since opening its first restaurant in Qatar in 1995, McDonald’s Qatar has consistently championed environmental responsibility through initiatives such as beach clean-ups and renewable technology adoption. Today, with 80 restaurants across the country, the company remains dedicated to reducing its environmental footprint and promoting sustainable practices. As a fully Qatari-owned and operated business under Al Mana Restaurants and Food Company W.L.L., McDonald’s Qatar takes pride in contributing to local sustainability efforts.
This latest initiative focused on restoring coastal ecosystems through two key actions: planting mangroves, which play a crucial role in carbon absorption and coastal protection, and cleaning waste from beaches to promote marine biodiversity.
Mithqual Abu Nasser, Executive General Manager of McDonald’s Qatar, commented: “At McDonald’s Qatar, sustainability is a fundamental part of our mission. Through Rahlatuna, our corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform, we consistently implement initiatives that positively impact Qatar’s environment and community. Beyond large-scale initiatives, McDonald’s Qatar continues to embed sustainability into its daily operations.
