Our Impact Reflects Our Role in Advancing the Nation and Serving Its Community

At McDonald’s Saudi Arabia, we view our role as far greater than operating restaurants. Our presence across the Kingdom represents a powerful economic and social force, one that contributes to national growth, strengthens local industries, empowers Saudi talent, and supports communities at scale. As the Kingdom continues its ambitious transformation under Saudi Vision 2030, McDonald’s Saudi Arabia stands as a major private-sector contributor, creating value that extends beyond our restaurants and into the wider national economy.

This impact is not incidental. It is the result of a deliberate, long-standing commitment to building a business that serves the country, supports its people, and contributes to its future. Through our expanding footprint, investment in local capabilities, employment opportunities, training programs, and community initiatives, McDonald’s Saudi Arabia has become deeply embedded in the Kingdom’s economic and social fabric, helping shape long-term value across multiple levels of society.

In recognition of this scale, Oxford Economics issued an independent report measuring the social and economic contribution of McDonald’s Saudi Arabia during the period from April 2024 to March 2025. As one of the world’s leading economic advisory firms, Oxford Economics brings global authority in economic analysis, impact measurement, and evidence-based reporting, offering an objective assessment of the significant role McDonald’s Saudi Arabia plays in supporting growth, development, and national progress.

The findings of the report capture the magnitude of McDonald’s Saudi Arabia’s contribution over a full year of continuous work. In one year, McDonald’s Saudi Arabia served more than 121 million meals through its nationwide network of 438 branches. This total included over 89 million meals served in restaurants and 32 million meals fulfilled through delivery services, reflecting the scale of the company’s operations and its ability to serve customers across multiple channels throughout the Kingdom.

McDonald’s Saudi Arabia generated an estimated 3.6 billion Riyal in GDP impact across the Kingdom’s economy. This figure reflects the company’s direct economic impact through its operational activities, its indirect impact resulting from expenditure across the local supplier base, and its induced impact generated through the spending of wages by employees and workers throughout the wider supply chain.

Oxford Economics further indicates that for every 1 million Riyal in direct GDP impact generated by McDonald’s Saudi Arabia, an additional 2.2 million Riyal in GDP is supported across other sectors of the Kingdom’s economy.

McDonald’s Saudi Arabia invested more than 4.6 million Riyal in employee training and development through continuous learning programs.

This included more than 2,500 training hours designed to develop the talents and capabilities of Saudi nationals, equipping them with the experience required to pursue their ambitions, realize their full potential, and create lasting value for themselves, their families, and their communities.

McDonald’s Saudi Arabia created more than 22,500 jobs across the Kingdom, encompassing direct employment within its restaurants and administrative functions, as well as indirect and wider employment generated across its supply chain and related sectors.

This reflects the company’s role in advancing job creation, strengthening national talent development, and expanding employment opportunities for Saudi youth.

As part of its broader community responsibility efforts, McDonald’s Saudi Arabia allocated more than 4 million Riyal in donations to a range of charitable and social initiatives. These donations were directed toward organizations dedicated to people with Down syndrome, initiatives involving innovative Saudi youth participating in the International Science and Engineering Exhibition, local motorcycle sports events, and programs serving orphans and persons with disabilities.

As reported by Oxford Economics, McDonald’s Saudi Arabia issued more than 6,000 certifications in core areas of employee development, including restaurant operations, customer service, and team leadership.
