McDonald’s Saudi Arabia Launches Flexible Hourly Employment Program, Targeting Up to 1,500 Job Opportunities

Riyadh International Catering Corporation – McDonald’s Saudi Arabia announced the launch of its new flexible hourly employment program across all of the company’s restaurants, in a step aimed at providing more flexible job opportunities, particularly for university students, enabling them to balance their studies with work while gaining practical experience. The initiative is part of the company’s ongoing efforts highlighted through its national platform, “One of You.”

The program is a permanent and ongoing initiative that allows employees to work under a flexible system suited to their needs and commitments. Employees may work up to 4 hours per day, based on the operational needs and schedules of each restaurant, meaning working hours may vary from one location to another.

Through the program, McDonald’s Saudi Arabia aims to provide up to 1,500 job opportunities across all of the company’s restaurants, primarily targeting university students while also making opportunities available to other eligible individuals who meet the requirements for flexible employment.

The opportunities provided through the program extend beyond flexible work, offering employees a pathway for career development within the company. Flexible employees will be given priority for available full-time positions, providing them with the opportunity to continue growing and progressing within McDonald’s Saudi Arabia should they wish to transition into full-time employment.

The program aims to support university students by helping them gain practical experience alongside their studies and strengthen their independence, while also contributing to Saudization efforts and reducing unemployment through flexible employment opportunities that respond to the needs of the targeted groups.

These efforts also align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing human capabilities, preparing national talent for the needs of the labor market, and enhancing opportunities for continuous learning and development, which are among the key pillars of the Human Capability Development Program under the Kingdom’s Vision Realization Programs.

As the program is being launched for the first time, McDonald’s Saudi Arabia will measure its impact over the coming period through a number of indicators, including the number of job opportunities provided, the number of students benefiting from the program, employee retention rates, and the rate of transition from flexible employment to full-time positions.
