  TERMS AND CONDITIONS ("RULES")


1.      PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES

The McDonald’s “Golden Getaway” promotion, 2025 (the Promotion) will be conducted on the McDonald’s App, only applicable for United Arab Emirates.

The Golden Getaway is a promotional campaign hosted on the McDonald’s App by McDonald’s UAE (the promoter), where users can play interactive games, climb leaderboards and enter prize draws for a chance to win weekly MyM Rewards Points and a grand prize staycation at Anantara Mina Al Arab Resort, Ras Al Khaimah. The campaign runs for five (5) weeks, starting from May 12th to June 15th, 2025.

 

2.     PARTICIPANTS

The Promotion is:

a) Open to all residents of the United Arab Emirates who are 18 years or older.

b)   Provided they are registered users of the McDonald’s App and enrolled in the MyM Rewards program.

 Any inability to furnish a copy of the relevant document to satisfy condition (a) above may disqualify an otherwise valid Participant from redeeming his or her Prize.

 

3.    PARTICIPATION LIMITATIONS

The following are not eligible to participate: (i) any persons who, on or after

1 January 2017, were or are directors, officers or employees of McDonald’s UAE[Ma1]  (Emirates Fast Food Company L.L.C) , McDonald’s GCC Co-Op Inc. or any company responsible for redemption of prizes for the Promotion and their respective parent companies, franchisees, subsidiaries, affiliated companies or service agencies, and those companies retained in any way by McDonald’s for the administration of the Promotion, (ii) any company that buys and/or delivers McDonald’s products on behalf of McDonald’s customers, (iii) any other persons involved in the development, production, or distribution of materials for this Promotion, (iv) persons who are immediate family members (defined as spouse or biological or adoptive or step – mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son or dependent) of, or reside in the same household as, any person in any of the preceding categories, or otherwise restricted as required by law, (v) any person acting on behalf of a syndicate or collection of persons acting in concert, and (vi) any person entering via an agent or using the services of an organization which is an entity carrying on the business of entering (or advising on entering) prize promotions.

To participate in the Promotion, you must be an adult of majority age and be legally able to give consent (in each case based on applicable laws of your jurisdiction), on or before the date you attempt to redeem a Prize. If you are under the age of majority or are otherwise required to obtain permission of your legal guardian in your jurisdiction, your parent or legal guardian must give their consent for you to participate. However, redemption of a Prize is strictly limited to Participants who are the age of majority or over in their jurisdiction and the restrictions set out in these Rules.

 

4.  How to Participate

  • A new game will be released in the Golden Getaway platform each week during the campaign:
    • Week 1: Game 1
    • Week 2: Game 2 (plus Game 1 remains playable)
    • Week 3: Game 3 (plus Games 1 & 2 remain playable)
    • Week 4: All three games remain playable
    • Weel 5: All three games remain playable
  • Users can play any or all available games during the campaign period.
  • Scores are tracked on a live leaderboard for each game.
  • At the end of each week, the top 50  scorers of all the games will enter a random digital draw.
  • From this pool, three (3) winners per week will be randomly selected to win 9,999 MyM Rewards Points.
  • This selection process occurs each week for a total of five (5) weekly digital draws. The draw will take place in the presence of a municipality representative.
  • The Digital Draws will take place on the following dates:

-          Draw 1:  22nd May 2025

-          Draw 2: 29th May 2025

-          Draw 3: 5th June 2025

-          Draw 4: 12th June 2025

-          Draw 5: 19th June 2025

 

5.  Grand Prize – A luxury Staycation

  • In Week 5, in addition to the weekly MyM Points giveaway, a grand prize draw will take place.
  • The top scorers across games will enter the raffle for the grand prize.
  • From this pool, two (2) winners will be randomly selected.
  • Each winner will receive a 2 Nights staycation for a family of four (2 adults + up to 2 children) at Anantara Mina Al Arab Resort, Ras Al Khaimah.
  • Staycation details, including validity, blackout dates, and booking terms, will be communicated directly to the winners.

 

6. Winner Notification

  • Weekly winners will be contacted via their McDonald’s App registered contact details within 7 days of each draw.
  • Grand prize winners will be contacted within 10 days of the campaign's conclusion.
  • If a winner does not respond within 7 business days, McDonald’s UAE reserves the right to select an alternate winner.
  • By participating in this competition, the participant automatically allows McDonald’s UAE the right to publish their name on McDonald’s UAE social media platforms, website and App.

 

7. Prize Terms

  • MyM Rewards Points:
    • Non-transferable, non-refundable, and not redeemable for cash.
    • Subject to standard MyM Rewards terms and expiration policy.
    • Validity of the prize is for 365 days from the date when the Points were received in the registered MyM account
  • Grand Prize Staycation:
    • Includes accommodation for 2 adults and up to 2 children.
    • Subject to hotel availability and blackout dates.
    • Cannot be exchanged or transferred.
    • The prize is valid only until October 16th, 2025

 

8. Fair Play & Disqualification

  • Any cheating, use of bots, manipulation, or exploitation of the game will result in immediate disqualification.
  • McDonald’s UAE reserves the right to verify the validity of all scores and participants.

 

9. General Conditions

  • McDonald’s UAE reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the campaign or its mechanics at any time without prior notice.
  • Participation constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and any decisions made by McDonald’s UAE.
  • Winners may be required to participate in promotional activity and content for marketing purposes.

 

10. Limitation of Liability

McDonald’s UAE is not responsible for technical issues, app downtime, internet connectivity problems, or any error that may prevent participation or prize delivery.

12.    RESPONSIBILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law (but not otherwise) the Promoter, Prize Partner, its agents, subcontractors, or any third parties shall not be liable for:(i) the accuracy or otherwise of the Prize description or illustration, (ii) the non-availability, loss, interception or interference with, late receipt or damage of or to any prize claim, prize or notification or other communication, (iii) (other than those warranties or conditions implied by statute and which cannot be excluded by the Promoter) any representation, warranty, condition or guarantee in respect of a prize, or (iv) any taxes, fees, charges or other costs which Participants may be required to pay at any time in connection with a prize, (save to the extent that the Promoter has expressly and specifically accepted responsibility in these Rules for the same), or (v) all costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to a person’s participation in the Promotion, or arising out of a person’s participation in any Promotion related activity, or their receipt, use or misuse of any prize that may be awarded to them.

All Prizes remain the property of the Promoter, pending redemption by Participants and the Promoter reserves the right to dispose of any unclaimed prizes as they deem appropriate or as required by law.

For any prize which must be claimed by the winner’s parent / legal guardian, the Promoter will not be obliged to award it to anyone other than that parent/legal guardian, if the winner is less than the age of majority in their respective country. The Promoter may also withhold that award should the Promoter determine in its sole discretion that a dispute may have arisen as between the winner and the parent / legal guardian in relation to the Prize. The Promoter is not liable or responsible to verify the identity of the parent or legal guardian.

The submission of prize claims is the sole responsibility of the Participant. Any tax liability or life, health, travel, accident or other insurance (unless stated) associated with any prize is payable by the Participant and is their sole responsibility.

 

13.     THE PROMOTER’S RIGHTS

To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter reserves the right and at any time at its absolute discretion and without giving any reason or notice, to vary, modify, or amend the terms of these Rules in such manner as the Promoter thinks fit. Any changes will be communicated on the website www.mcdonalds.com or the McDonald’s App and all participants in the Promotion shall be deemed to have accepted such amended or modified terms by their ongoing participation in the Promotion.

In the event of any discrepancy between any printed Rules, short guides, declarations, or between the English and Arabic versions, the English Rules as communicated on the website will prevail.

To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter may (i) extend any time limit or waive any of these Rules where a person might otherwise have been disqualified (without obliging the Promoter to relax these Rules on any further occasion for that entrant or at all for any other person), (ii) terminate or suspend the Promotion at any time due to supervening circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control, or (ii) substitute the Prize deemed to be an appropriate replacement and of equal or greater value in the place of any Prizes (or any part of the Prize). The Promoter’s decision in the exercise or interpretation of any of its rights or discretions in connection with these Rules shall be final and binding.

 

Fanshop – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the redemption of third-party vouchers (also referred to as ‘ digital coupon codes or digital voucher codes) available through the Fanshop feature in the McDonald’s application (the "App") in the UAE. By redeeming your McDonald’s Rewards Points ("Points") for any third-party voucher, you agree to be bound by these Terms in addition to the McDonald’s Rewards Terms and Conditions and the McDonald’s App Terms of Use.

1. Eligibility

  • The Fanshop is available to registered users of the McDonald’s App in the United Arab Emirates who are enrolled in the McDonald’s Rewards program.
  • Only users with sufficient Points in their account may redeem for third-party vouchers.

2. Redemption of Points

  • Fanshop items require a specific number of Points to redeem. The number of Points required will be clearly displayed for each item within the Fanshop interface.
  • Once Points are redeemed for a voucher, the transaction is final and cannot be reversed, refunded, or exchanged for cash or other rewards.
  • Vouchers are issued digitally and will be accessible via the McDonald’s App after successful redemption.

3. Third-Party Vouchers

  • Vouchers offered through the Fanshop are issued by independent third-party providers (e.g., Uber, Cleartrip, etc.).
  • McDonald’s does not control, operate, or endorse any third-party services, websites, or offers.
  • Use of the voucher is subject to the respective third party’s terms and conditions. Users are responsible for reviewing and complying with those terms.
  • McDonald’s is not liable for:
    • Expired, invalid, or lost vouchers;
    • Unavailability or changes in third-party services;
    • Any disputes, claims, or issues arising from the use of third-party services.

4. Voucher Expiry and Use

  • All vouchers have an expiry date, which will be clearly stated at the time of redemption. Each voucher remains valid for one month from the date of Points redemption and cannot be reissued once expired.
  • Vouchers are typically single-use, non-transferable, and not exchangeable for cash.

5. Fraudulent Use

  • Any suspected or actual misuse of Points or vouchers may result in suspension or termination of the Participant’s account and forfeiture of Points and/or vouchers.
  • McDonald’s reserves the right to cancel or revoke any voucher in cases of suspected fraud, misuse, or violation of these Terms.

6. Changes to the Fanshop

  • McDonald’s reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Fanshop or any of its offerings at any time without notice.
  • McDonald’s may update these Terms from time to time without bearing any liability for such act. No acceptance or approval is expected of the Participants. Continued use of the App and redemption of Points after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
