JUMP THE QUEUE! MCDONALD’S ‘ORDER AHEAD’ APP FEATURE LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE

Following a successful trial launch, McDonald’s UK is rolling out its brand-new app feature, ‘Order Ahead’ across restaurants nationwide! From Tuesday, 11^th November, customers across the UK can now jump the queue by ordering their McDonald’s favourites directly through the McDonald’s App.

With your consent, this innovative feature uses geofencing technology to alert the restaurant as you approach, so your order only starts cooking when you're just a few minutes away. The result? Less waiting, and a smoother, faster experience from start to finish.

Order Ahead is ideal for customers who value speed and convenience, perfect for busy parents always on the go, students juggling deadlines or those just trying to squeeze in a quick lunch.

Whether you're taking away or dining in, Order Ahead helps you jump the queue and enjoy your McDonald’s favourites faster. Whether it’s a Big Mac® on the go or McNuggets® on Click & Serve, to Fries delivered to your table get ahead of your hunger by ordering ahead on the McDonald’s App!

Order Ahead – How It Works:

Make your McDonald's pick-up experience even easier with Order Ahead. Here's how to get started:

• Download the App – First, make sure you have the McDonald’s App installed on your phone and ensure location services are enabled.  For the best experience, also ensure push notifications are enabled to get live order updates. 
• Choose a Location – Use the app to find the participating McDonald’s restaurant where you'd like to pick up your order.
• Place Your Order – Browse the menu, customise your items, and add them to your bag.
• Select Your Pick-Up Option – Choose how you’d like to collect your order:
  • Counter Pick-Up, Drive-Thru*, Click & Serve, or Table Service.
• Pay and Hit the Road – Tap "Pay" in the app and start heading to the restaurant.
• ⭐Let the App Work for You⭐– Thanks to NEW GEOFENCING TECHNOLOGY the restaurant will begin preparing your order when you're approximately three minutes away
  • *Please note: Geofencing technology is not available for Drive-Thru orders
• Pick Up Your Order – When you arrive, follow the steps based on your selected pick-up method:
  • Counter Pick-Up: Head inside and collect your order when ready.
  • Drive-Thru: Although geofencing is not applicable on Drive-Thru, you can still use Order Ahead to confirm and pay for your order in advance.  Then, simply share your order code at the window to let the restaurant start preparing your order for a smooth and speedy pick-up. 
  • **Click & Serve: Park in a designated bay and enter your bay number in the app — your food will be brought right to your car.
  • **Table Service: Find a seat, relax and enter your table number in the app — we’ll bring your order straight to your table when it’s ready.
