Alex Bissett-Powell joined the UK&I McDonald’s Senior Leadership Team as VP, Chief Technology Officer, in September 2025.
During his time at McDonald’s, Alex has helped guide the business through digital transformation, infrastructure modernisation and stability enhancing programs across multiple markets. Alex is passionate about growing talent, building strong partnerships and delivering tech that enhances the customer and crew experience.
Alex began his career with McDonald’s in 2015 at the Shoreditch office, enabling technology outcomes across multiple markets. In 2021, he moved into the role of CIO in Japan, during this tenure, he was pivotal in improving service standards for restaurants and customers through a dedicated focus on stability, security, and performance.
In his most recent role as CIO of IOM BU, Alex demonstrated a laser sharp focus on quality delivery, standardisation, security, and collaboration across Global Technology. Alex and his team’s, many achievements include Sesame 1 roll-out across all BU markets, Seamless Open/Close and Mobile Order & Pay, embedding a reliable and common tech stack across all 11 markets.
Alex’s favourite McDonald’s menu item is the Sausage and Egg McMuffin.
