Gareth has been Senior Vice President, Chief Restaurant Officer since July 2023, following his roles as Senior Vice President Chief Operations Officer and Senior Vice President, Chief People Officer. He is responsible for the operational restaurant business, including Delivery, Licensing and Field services, Franchising and Corporate Operations.
Since joining the business in 1992, Gareth has held a number of roles throughout restaurant operations in the northern region, including Director of Franchising.
In 2014, he was appointed Head of Franchising where he played a significant role in leading the franchising strategy, the recruitment of new Franchisees and growing the franchised estate. He went on to be Director of National Operations, responsible for National Operations, Restaurant Services and Safety, Security & Licensing before becoming Vice President, Operations North. In this role, Gareth oversaw all restaurants in the northern region and Republic of Ireland, including franchised operations.
Most recently, Gareth has been instrumental in the realisation of the Convenience of the Future programme. This will see both new and existing restaurants redesigned over the next four years, in order to better integrate digital sales channels, create a better work environment for restaurant crew, and deliver an enhanced customer experience.
Gareth’s favourite McDonald’s menu item is the Double Cheeseburger.
