Our training programme provides a foundation for our Franchisees to build on.
Working closely with a restaurant team and supported by a consultant you will work through a minimum 16 week training programme, followed by a business immersion and handover process. You’ll gain hands-on experience in the running of a restaurant and learn the different roles, from what a crew member does to how the restaurant manager operates a restaurant.

Plan to Win is a business strategy that aims to keep us aligned with customer needs. Franchisees work with McDonald's employees to create initiatives for the following business year with the goal of making McDonald's the UK & Ireland's best loved quick service restaurant.
Goals for the year are set and grouped under five key pillars, covering the performance areas of People, Operational Excellence, Sales and Marketing, Financial Growth and Trust. They are cascaded throughout the business to every restaurant. As a Franchisee this is tremendously valuable, as it ensures the whole system is aligned and working towards a common goal.
Next, you’ll learn the role of Shift Management. The aim is to give you the skills and confidence necessary to understand how our Managers work to ensure the smooth running of an operational restaurant.
You’ll have the opportunity to understand and learn systems, policies, procedures and how to support the Restaurant Manager as well as learning how they manage the restaurant performance.
