Paul Pomroy was appointed Chief Executive Officer for McDonald’s IE in February 2015. He has been a part of the IE Leadership Team, helping to drive the sustained success of the IE business, over the past decade.
Since assuming his role, Paul and his team have continued to accelerate investments that truly make a difference to the experience received by our customers and our people. Under his leadership, the business, together with Franchisees, has invested in a multi-million pound restaurant transformation plan, Experience of the Future.
As part of this, Paul has announced a number of key strategic moves. Understanding that McDonald’s customers are looking for ultimate convenience, under his leadership the company has rolled out digital self-order screens, table service, a click and collect app, and home service through McDelivery to complement Drive Thru and 24 hour restaurants. All of these moves are a direct result of listening to customers and keeping pace with what they want.
Passionate about people and talent development, Paul has also instigated moves on both pay and contracts for restaurant teams. This focus on investing in and backing McDonald’s people, saw him shortlisted for HR Director’s CEO of the Year in 2016, recognising his commitment to those that make the business a success.
Paul joined McDonald’s in 1996 as a real estate analyst. His progression through the company has included responsibilities as Regional Financial Controller for London and the South East, Head of Business Strategy and Head of Commercial Finance. He was appointed Vice President Finance in 2008. In 2012, Paul was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, with additional responsibility for the company’s Development and Supply Chain functions.
Paul’s favourite McDonald’s menu item varies from a Big Mac to Filet of Fish, the Hot Peri Peri grilled chicken wrap to Chicken McNuggets or the Chicken Legend.
