The 25th annual McHappy Day in Canada sees record participation and sales
TORONTO May 9, 2018 – On May 2, McDonald’s Canada celebrated its 25th annual McHappy Day® in Canada, a one-day celebration in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities® Canada (RMHC® Canada) and local children’s charities.
This year, McDonald’s Canada inspired more participation in the long-standing fundraising event than ever before, with Canadians pledging publicly how they planned to support McHappy Day on social media. Their participation and support allowed McDonald’s restaurants across the country to raise more than $6.1 million. These funds will support local children’s charities and 31 RMHC locations that keep families with a sick child close – close to one another and close to the care their child needs. “This is where families get a little bit of normal when their world has been turned upside down,” explained Cathy Loblaw, President & CEO of RMHC Canada.
"We are extremely thankful to all Canadians who generously contributed to McHappy Day this year, and to all of our franchisees, and their crew, who worked tirelessly to make this 25th anniversary the most successful to date," said Loblaw.
