How much cooking oil do you collect from your London restaurants to dispose of every year?

May 22, 2018

From looking at national figures we estimate that we collect approximately 618,000 litres of used cooking oil from our 165 London restaurants, which is converted into approximately 532,000 litres of biodiesel. All of our used cooking oil is taken to a centre in the North West for conversion. The oil is converted into fuel using a number of processes which include esterification, transesterification, filtration and distillation. The final blend differs dependent upon the time of year and the ambient temperature, but blends include B30, B50, B70 and B100.
