At McDonald's, we hold ourselves to high standards of fairness, honesty, and integrity. As a company that operates in 120 markets, we take the responsibilities that come with being a leader seriously. We are individually accountable and collectively responsible. We give back to our communities. We help our customers build better communities, support Ronald McDonald House Charities, and leverage our size and resources to help make the world a better place. At McDonald's we are committed to using quality ingredients that are sourced sustainably; in an environmentally friendly, ethical and economical way, as well as supporting the farmers who supply us with quality ingredients. We work with leading independent animal welfare experts to promote continuous improvement in animal welfare, as part of our broader sustainable supply chain sourcing programmes. For example, all of the tea and coffee we serve in the U.K. is Rainforest Alliance Certified. This ensures that there are high social and environmental standards in place on these farms, which benefits the farmers, their workers and the environment. McDonald's UK have also been recognised by Compassion in World Farming (CIWF) for our commitment to improving animal welfare through the Good Sow Commendation award in 2013 and the Good Egg award in 2007. We also have a sustainable sourcing policy for our food and packaging which you can read more about on our website, in the Our World section.
