Do McDonald's work with local charities - and if so, can they request help directly?

Our on-going charity work is incredibly important to us. As a result, in order to dedicate enough time and support to our existing community and charity programmes, we're afraid that we are not able to support local charities upon request, as worthwhile as they are. Last year, McDonald's franchisees, customers, suppliers and staff raised over £3 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities, providing home-away-from-home accommodation for families with children in hospital across the U.K. This helped to provide over 350 families with a night's stay close to their child when they needed their love and support the most.
