Do your fries contain sugar?

May 21, 2018

Potatoes naturally contain a small amount of sugar. As a result, our Medium Fries will contain 1g of sugar per portion. It's this naturally-occurring sugar that helps give the fries their characteristic golden colour when fried.

At the beginning of the potato season, when we're using newer potatoes, the naturally-occurring sugar content is very low and we do need to add a small amount of sugar dextrose to our fries to ensure they maintain that golden colour. However, the total amount of sugar in the fries will remain the same i.e. 1g per medium portion.
