The chicken in our McNuggets® is 100% chicken breast – chopped into small pieces in order to make it easier to shape and eat. In our restaurants, each Chicken McNugget® is cooked by our teams until perfectly crisp and then served nice and hot. Just the way a Chicken McNugget® should be eaten.

Working with our suppliers
Together with our suppliers, we work hard to focus on continuous improvement and have led the industry with positive moves on chicken welfare. We are proud to have daylight provision and enrichment for all birds in our supply chain, for all chicken served in our UK and Irish restaurants. This means providing pecking objects and perches to encourage the birds to express their natural behaviours.
While we are proud of the work we’ve done so far, we recognise that there is more that we can do. We’re committed to sourcing chicken with improved welfare outcomes. For us in the UK and Ireland, this means taking a joined up approach, including the environmental, ethical and economic sustainability of our supply chain. We strongly believe in this approach, which provides a direct assessment of the quality of life chickens experience throughout their lives. Our approach is underpinned by innovation and research. For example, we are working with Queen’s University, Belfast on research with leading animal welfare experts. It is this approach that we believe will truly drive continuous improvement.
