Harriet joined McDonald’s UK in October 2017 as SVP, Chief People Officer and has ownership of the Company’s People and organisation strategy in the UK. She is responsible for our workforce of over 120,000, working closely with the Franchisee community to bring commitments to life for the people working in the business.

Her focus is to ensure strong leadership for our People agenda, driving the cultural change required to help further drive the growth of the UK business and re-enforcing our commitment to recruitment, retention, training and education with an increasing focus on the wellbeing of our biggest asset to our business – our people. She also has responsibility for Customer Services and Corporate Affairs.

Harriet also contributes to the extended Global People Leadership Team, where the UK plays an important role in supporting the Global People Strategy and innovative best practices.

Harriet has a well-established career both in retail and HR, having joined McDonald’s from Fenwick’s where she worked as its interim HR Director. Prior to that, she was a board member for John Lewis, the online and department store business of the John Lewis Partnership, and was instrumental in the business transformation supporting its journey from traditional high street retailer into a modern multi-channel business.
