We care about the well-being of families. Back in 1974, our Franchisees helped local community leaders open the first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. Bringing to life a vision to provide support for families with children who were ill or injured. To this day, we stand by Ronald McDonald House in their commitment to ensure families with children who are ill or injured are able to stay together and receive the comfort and support they need. In our restaurants, we help support the work of Ronald McDonald House and its 260+ Chapters both in your neighborhoods and in communities around the world.

Every time you buy a Happy Meal®, we donate one cent to support Ronald McDonald House programs and services, including Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald House® Family Room and Ronald McDonald House® Care Mobile.*

*1/1/26-12/31/26, McDonald’s will donate one cent to Ronald McDonald House for each Happy Meal sold at participating U.S. restaurants.

Ronald McDonald House

A comfortable space for families who must travel far from home for their child’s medical care, located near the hospital, complete with home-cooked meals, private bedrooms and the support of staff and other families. There are currently 380+ Ronald McDonald House programs worldwide.

Ronald McDonald House Family Room

A space inside the hospital for caretakers to rest, recharge and regroup, near their child’s hospital room. There are currently 265+ Ronald McDonald House Family Room programs worldwide.

Ronald McDonald House Local Programs

Programs that help the unmet needs of a community, such as the Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile program—a service that provides essential resources like dental, medical and health care to communities in need.

Every time you visit McDonald’s, you can support Ronald McDonald House by choosing to Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House when you place your order on the kiosk or ask the crew to Round-Up your order to the nearest dollar. You may also drop spare change in any of the Ronald McDonald House Donation Boxes in restaurants or Drive Thru. Both fundraising programs are available 365-days-per-year in most U.S. restaurants.

In 2023, our U.S. customers alone supported Ronald McDonald House families by donating over $50 million through Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House and Donation Boxes. Through your generosity, Ronald McDonald House was able to provide more than 500,000 overnight stays to families with hospitalized children.
