CIO and Senior Vice President, McDonald’s USA
Valerie Ashbaugh is responsible for leading the U.S. Technology organization in the development, integration, deployment and support for technology across nearly 14,000 restaurants, including point of sale, kiosk, digital menu boards, mobile, back office, HR and training applications. As Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, she partners closely with the McDonald’s senior leadership team and McDonald’s franchise owner/operators to bring McDonald’s technology strategy to life, enabling innovation to enhance both the customer and crew experience. She previously served as the Senior Vice President, Commercial Products & Platforms, overseeing an organization that built and operated industry-leading technologies that strengthened McDonald’s global technology platforms.
Valerie has extensive experience leading global technology transformations for several iconic brands across a broad range of companies in the retail, aerospace & defense, and high-tech industries. In her previous role at Nike, she led the product, planning and manufacturing technology organization, including a digital transformation that accelerated the strategy and delivery of technology solutions for Nike’s supply chain. Valerie has also held progressive technology leadership roles at Boeing, Dell, and Accenture. At Boeing, Valerie was responsible for the creation and deployment of the company’s first ever Supply Chain Systems Strategy.
Valerie has a keen focus on platform transformation, agile delivery, and operational excellence. She is passionate about building high-performing teams and lasting partnerships between business and technology organizations to achieve organizational goals and deliver technology commitments.
Valerie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Government. She was named a World 50 Women Executive in 2018 and 2019.
