Chief Information Officer, McDonald’s USA
Mustafa Husain is the Chief Information Officer for McDonald's USA, bringing more than 20 years of technology leadership experience across the restaurant, commercial, and consumer technology industries.
Mustafa joined McDonald's over five years ago, most recently serving as Vice President of Restaurant Technology Engineering, where he led the evolution of the company's global point-of-sale system — driving meaningful improvements in system stability and standardization across thousands of restaurants. Under his leadership, the team also pioneered several next-generation products including a voice ordering agent for the drive-through experience and a connected equipment platform designed to maximize uptime, improve food taste and quality and optimize restaurant operations.
Prior to McDonald's, Mustafa spent nearly a decade at Amazon, holding a range of leadership roles within the Consumer Devices and Robotics groups, where he developed deep expertise in large-scale product development and emerging technology. Earlier in his career, he held roles at technology companies in Canada.
Mustafa holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering from the University of Toronto, and an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University. He is known for a deeply customer-first approach to technology — building products and platforms that create meaningful impact for restaurant operators, crew, and the guests they serve.
